The Casano-Loutet Overpass Is Coming

March 25, 2025 | News, Policies, & Regulations | By Matt Council

Big news for those who bike or walk around North Vancouver! The Casano-Loutet Overpass project is set to improve pedestrian and cycling connectivity across the city.

As a resident of the Westlynn community, I'm excited to share that construction is beginning on a new pedestrian and cycling overpass over Highway 1. The Casano-Loutet Overpass will connect the Loutet and Cedar Village neighbourhoods, providing a safe and accessible pathway for walkers, cyclists, and those rolling between local schools, services, and neighborhoods.

This overpass will feature built-in lighting, seating, wayfinding signage, and even native plant restoration to enhance biodiversity. It’s designed to be accessible for everyone, with gradual curves and comfortable resting areas.

The info session for this exciting project will give community members a chance to ask questions and learn about what to expect during the construction phase. Here's your chance to get involved in shaping this incredible project.

🗓 Date & Time: April 3 2025, 5:30pm-8:00pm
📍 Location: Sutherland Secondary School

More about the project: City of North Vancouver Site

Let’s make sure this overpass serves the community the best it can!
